Friday Flowers Club #12~Autumna

And just like that, the mist descends and the temperatures fall, and the shift to Autumn begins in earnest.

Hello Friends.

Whilst my interest in seasonality dictates much of what we do at home across the year, its safe to say that ours is an autumnal house. It suits the gentle change to darker evenings and colder climes. It almost encourages the notion to ‘Coorie in’ as we would say back up in Scotland. Literally, to ‘snuggle up’.

With that in mind I hosted an outdoor mini-workshop this week on our terrace for three ladies. We focused on the principals underpinning a traditional hand-tied bouquet but the event was framed with a lovely sense of the incoming Autumn equinox. Cosy blankets, a wood fire, festoon lights illuminating an increasingly crisp dusk, hues of burnt oranges and yellows in the wonderful creations that were put together. Once everyone was happy with their arrangements we retired inside to wrap them. It was a lovely evening, and the very idea of ‘Bringing the Outdoors in’.

There will be more information coming later this week on upcoming workshops; plans are in place for Autumn hand-tied bouquet sessions and Christmas wreath making, all of which will be held at Fulwood Old Chapel. There will also be spaces for more mini-workshops for up to four people that I will host from home. Please drop me a line if you are interested.

Before then, Friday Flower Club is back. This week the focus will be on Autumn incoming with some golden hues, as the sun sets on summer, with some seasonal Helenium, Chrysanthemums and Amaranthus.

Small Bouquet: £15, Large Bouquet: £30, Jam Jars: £12.50.
