Friday Flowers Club #13~Refilling the Cup
Hello Friends.
Last night my husband returned home from a weekend running retreat in the Spittal of Glenshee, in the Cairngorms [hosted by my brother]. Tired but happy, when I asked him what his favourite part of the weekend was he didn’t answer a certain run or an interesting presentation, but instead simply replied ‘the conversations’, and that they had ‘refilled his cup’.
We have talked about connection here on Friday Flowers Club before, and this served as a timely reminder as we cross the Autumn Equinox that when the nights now start to draw in earlier and we awaken to those misty drizzle filled mornings, that connections can help us navigate our way into the coming months with a little more comfort and clarity. Reaching out, conversing, sharing, engaging.
I mentioned my upcoming workshops a fortnight ago, and I’m pleased to let you know that the first confirmed of these will be a Christmas Wreath workshop taking place on the 29th November at Fulwood Old Chapel at 7pm. Full details will follow. I will be giving direction and instruction on building a beautiful Christmas door wreath and all materials and flowers will be provided, and there will also be drinks and nibbles. It will be a chance to have some floristry fun, but more importantly an opportunity to meet up and engage. To talk, laugh, share, and hopefully refill our cups together at the time of year when we perhaps might need it the most. I would love for you to come along.
This week’s seasonal flowers are inspired by the Scottish mountains on a warm, misty early autumn with the deep tones of bracken and the Scottish purple heather. (Thank you for the picture Simon).
