Friday Flowers Club #11~Sometimes the Sea
Hello friends.
‘But my life it is good,
And I have what I need
And sometimes the wind,
And sometimes the sea…’
This week we were fortunate to be invited for an impromptu short break away with some dear friends, a few miles south of Filey.
We have spent a lot of time on this part of the North Yorkshire coastline over the years, and there is an ease and familiarity to the area that evokes an innate changing down of gears, allowing time to pause, consider and observe (even with two seven year-olds in tow!).
The subtle shift in landscape, the changes in fauna on the moorlands, the splashes of colour on the cliff tops and coastal path; patches of Wild Scabious, Sea Thrift and Rock Spurney.
Our children carving paths through the unfamiliar – the space between what they know and what they find is where the joy truly lies. The process of discovery. Sand between their toes, salt in their hair, happiness in their smiles. Echoes of childhoods past lived again through the eyes of our own little ones.
It was a good weekend.
This week I will reflect the costal path with some purple Scabiosa, wild grasses and bursts of yellows.
Small Bouquet: £15, Large Bouquet: £30, Jam Jars: £12.50.
