Friday Flowers Club #14~The Sun will Rise Again.
Hello Friends.
I was going to write this week about Autumn, chiefly the equinox and the formal handover of season. But events have overtaken intention and instead I sit here revisiting the theme of the last Friday Flowers Club; the connections we make.
Autumn, amongst many other things, symbolises impermanence and together with Spring is the most obvious seasonal signifier of the ongoing cycle of change we live within. Quite literally, an ending for a new beginning.
We are all aware of the impermanence of the wheel of the year and embrace the changes it brings. But impermanence also means fragility and nowhere is this felt more than in our connections to each other. I have learned this, again, this week.
Text your friend. Check in on your neighbour. Make the call. Autumn does not discriminate and at some point everything must give way to the seasons of life.
And yet. As sure as the sun will still rise, Spring will still come. And so we continue.
For Jenny.
This week’s seasonal flowers will be a lovely blend of burgundies and dusty pinks.
Picture credits go again to Simon, from his early morning sunrise run last weekend on Hollins Cross.
